  • International "Harry Potter" Day is on May 2, as it's the anniversary of the Battle of Hogwarts from "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows."
  • Reading the books or watching the movies are both good ways to honor J.K. Rowling's magical world, but you can also get more creative with your celebrations.
  • You can recreate magical recipes from the series at home, dress up as your favorite characters, and even play Quidditch Pong to honor the day.

International "Harry Potter" Day is the perfect time to revisit the eight "Harry Potter" films.

The holiday falls on a Saturday this year, so it's the ideal occasion for a movie marathon.

It takes 20 hours to watch all of the films, so you'll need almost the entire day to make it happen.

You can also watch the "Fantastic Beasts" films if you want even more wizarding cinema.

You can try to make your own butterbeer.

The warm beverage is famous in the wizarding world for its enchanting taste, and there are plenty of recipes for the fictional drink online.

Delish's alcohol-free recipe only requires five ingredients.

You can arrange a Quidditch match with your family.

Quidditch is by far the most popular magical game in the wizarding world, so it makes sense "Harry Potter" fans would find a way to recreate it in real life.

The muggle version of the magical game doesn't involve flying, but it's still really fun. You can learn how to play here.

Of course, you can dress up as your favorite characters from J.K. Rowling's world.

It's always a good day to wear your Hogwarts robes or break out your replica of Mrs. Weasley's Christmas sweater, but the holiday gives you an extra reason to channel your inner wizard or witch.

If you need inspiration for your look, you can check out looks by some professional "Harry Potter" cosplayers here.

Take the Pottermore sorting quiz to find out which house you belong in.

Most "Harry Potter" fans probably took this quiz years ago, but it's never too late to find out which Hogwarts house you should call home.

There's also a quiz that will tell you what your Patronus would be.

You can take the quiz here.

You can make a myriad of recipes inspired by the series at home.

J.K. Rowling packed rich descriptions of food into every "Harry Potter" book, and you can make many of them at home with ingredients you likely already have in your pantry.

For instance, Hagrid's birthday cake for Harry from the first installment in the series is simple to recreate.

It's a great day to play some Wizard's Chess.

Much like Quidditch, Wizard's Chess won't feature real magic if you play it at home, but you will feel like you're spending a day with Ron Weasley.

You can actually buy a Wizard's Chess set here.

Or you can play "Harry Potter" video games.

There are "Harry Potter" games available for pretty much every gaming console, and you can also take advantage of app games inspired by the series, like "Wizards Unite."

"Harry Potter" Would You Rather is also a celebratory option.

The blog "Or So She Says" created a "Harry Potter" Would You Rather game that poses fun scenario questions from the series like: "Would you rather be a member of Dumbledore's Army or a member of the Order of the Phoenix?"

You can get printable versions of the questions here.

You can reread the books on your own or with your loved ones.

There's nothing like sinking into the fantasy world of "Harry Potter," so you can revisit the books that first introduced you to the boy who lived.

It's also a good opportunity to read the books aloud with your friends or family. If you have little kids, use the holiday to introduce them to the books you love so much with a story time session.

Whip out your "Harry Potter" knowledge by playing trivia with your friends.

International "Harry Potter" day is the perfect time to show off your infinite knowledge of the Wizarding World.

You can find trivia based on J.K. Rowling's world in a number of places, but you can see some particularly hard questions here.

Saturday is the perfect time for a Quidditch Pong tournament.

You get the best of both worlds with Quidditch Pong, as it combines the fun of the magical game with the drinking game you know and love.

You can get a rundown of the rules here.

There are lots of "Harry Potter" arts and crafts you can do.

You can recreate Luna Lovegood's lion headdress or make your own Hogwarts letter.

Plus, J.K. Rowling is currently offering crafts inspired by the series on "Harry Potter at Home." You can learn more about it here.

And you can transform your house into Hogwarts for a day.

Deck the halls with your house colors, create a fake Whomping Willow, or build a pillow fort version of a Hogwarts common room.

If you need some inspiration, you can check out how this family transforms their home into an ode to the "Harry Potter" books each year here.
